Daisuke Matsunaga (ダイスケマツナガ) is a character from Danganronpa: Mercy's for the Weak. He is one of the 16 participants chosen for the Killing School Cruise. His title is the Ultimate Forensic Examiner.
About[]
When Daisuke was young he spent a majority of his time reading mystery novels. He was never particularly intrigued by the stories, he just liked attempting to solve the cases in them. After a couple of years he started looking more and more into detective work and found one field that he had a large interest in, Forensics. He studied for many years and was eventually put on an amateur test case, which he solved in 4 hours. He was eventually put onto a training force for college graduates, which he graduated from in a matter of months. He was put on to the main force when he was 16, becoming the youngest investigator ever. One year later he was scouted by Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Forensic Examiner.
Appearance[]
Daisuke's outward appearance is rough and unstable looking. He is tall and trim with pale skin and purple eyes and his short purple hair is left messy and unstyled. He wears a basic outfit consisting of a white shirt, blue jeans and a belt along with his black school shoes as he's too busy to style himself in any way shape or form. He carries a pen and notepad with him at all times.
Personality[]
Daisuke is a focused, yet aloof person. He doesn't enjoy socializing and prefers to be alone a majority of the time, however he will make exceptions for people he genuinely likes. The reason for this is that he actually has social anxiety, hence why he becomes flustered when invited to large social gatherings such as parties or concerts.
Daisuke is quite emotionally unstable and doesn't trust many for reasons he won't disclose. If queried about this he'll simply brush it off as 'genetics'.

Ultimate Forensic Examiner[]
Daisuke is the Ultimate Forensic Examiner,meaning he is the best when it comes to performing autopsies on corpses, investigating evidence etc. He is a valuable person to have on any detective team and has even solved college level test cases in a few hours, when he was 15.
